Dr. Hessam “Sam” Ahani, DDS
Co-Founder and Co-Owner — not currently seeing patients
Dr. Ahani no longer treats patients at Shore View Dental. He co-founded the practice and remains a co-owner, and his work now sits behind the chair rather than in it.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, graduating in 1995. Two years later he and Dr. Sepideh Vafi opened Shore View Dental in Pacifica — a husband-and-wife practice with no appointment book yet and one patient, Annette, who took a chance on them. She is still a patient today.
These days he works on the things patients feel but rarely see: how visits are scheduled, how treatment is explained, how quickly the practice responds. He supports the clinical team with whatever they need to do their jobs well.
He also builds software for dentists, focused on the parts of dentistry that still run on paper and phone calls — particularly how practices refer patients to specialists and get information back.
