Call (650) 738-2100. We offer same-day emergency appointments at 731 Oceana Boulevard in Pacifica. Call as early in the day as you can — it gives us the best chance of seeing you before we close.
Our hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside those hours, our voicemail gives instructions for after-hours emergencies.
You do not need to be an existing patient. We see new patients for emergencies.
What counts as a dental emergency
- Severe or persistent tooth pain
- A knocked-out tooth
- A broken, cracked or chipped tooth
- A lost filling or crown that is causing pain
- Swelling of the face or gums
- Bleeding that will not stop
- Injury to the mouth after an accident or sports
Go to an emergency room, not a dental office, if facial swelling is affecting your breathing or swallowing, if you have had a serious blow to the head, or if bleeding is heavy and will not slow down.
What to do before you arrive
Knocked-out tooth. Pick it up by the crown, never the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently with milk or saline — do not scrub it. If you can, put it back in the socket and bite gently on a clean cloth. If you cannot, keep it in milk or in your own saliva. A knocked-out adult tooth has the best chance of being saved within the first hour, so call while you are doing this.
Broken tooth. Rinse your mouth with warm water. Keep any pieces. A cold compress on the outside of the cheek helps with swelling.
Toothache. Rinse with warm water and floss gently either side of the tooth in case something is trapped. Do not put aspirin against the gum — it burns the tissue.
Lost filling or crown. Keep the crown if you have it and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on that side.
Swelling. Do not apply heat. Call us the same day — swelling usually means infection, and it does not resolve on its own.

We work with MetLife, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Dental, Aetna, Humana, Guardian, Principal Financial Group and many other PPO plans. If you do not see yours, call and we will check your benefits.
